About our products

We have been building colloidal silver generators for over 20 years for our holistic clinics and clients and we continue to learn and improve our designs. In the last year we have begun selling our units commercially and the proceeds go to funding our sponsored charities. 

All IFC Colloidal Silver Generators are designed to produce high quality colloidal silver with a particle size from 1 to 15 nanometers.   

The built-in constant current limiter prevents current runaway ensuring the smallest particle size possible. 

The most important factors that contribute to the quality of colloidal silver are 1) quality distilled water. 2) Pure silver electrodes and 3) proper current limiting across the electrodes. 
Our units are designed to go low and slow providing you with a quart or a gallon of high-quality colloidal silver at a time.  

Yes, you can make colloidal silver with 3 batteries and some wire or you can use light bulbs, a simple resistor and other gimmicks to “limit current” but these don’t limit the current properly, and unless you watch your brew very closely, these units will provide you with a solution consisting of particles too large to be bio-available. They are a great “MacGyver” option in a pinch, for topical application or for a severely limited budget, but not the best option for consistent high-quality colloidal silver. 
Ideal current density to the electrodes is 1 milliampere per square inch of submersed silver anode (+ electrode) with a maximum of 2 milliamps per square inch. 

Our units are engineered to maintain that current density regardless of the conductivity of the solution by limiting the output current to a maximum of 2.3 ma. using a junction field effect transistor circuit to ensure that the current never rises above the set limit no matter how conductive the solution becomes.  Many manufacturers use simple 5 cent resistors to “limit current” and technically a resistor does that.  However, as the conductivity of the solution increases so will the current across the electrodes – even with a resistor inline.  

The slower the solution is processed, the smaller the particles, the greater the surface area and the more bio-available the silver in the solution is. In other words, slower is better.  

We offer a 1-year warranty on all of our colloidal silver generators. If it doesn’t work, we will fix or replace it. 

Our units are sold with pure silver electrodes to get you started. Replacement silver is readily available online, just be certain that when you purchase replacement electrodes that they are pure 99.99% silver.  NEVER use sterling silver.

We recommend purchasing 12 inches of 12 or 14 ga. pure silver wire or ½×6-inch pure silver sheet electrodes when the time comes to replace the silver.   

We recommend using a quart jar to process your colloidal silver. However, you can process half or a full gallon at a time.  just remember that we go low and slow so a gallon can take up to 72 hours to process.

Potent antiviral effect of silver nanoparticles on SARS-CoV-2

…particles of diameter around 10 nm were effective in inhibiting extracellular SARS-CoV-2 at concentrations ranging between 1 and 10 ppm while cytotoxic effect was observed at concentrations of 20 ppm and above. 

The elemental metal, Silver (Ag) has broad spectrum antimicrobial action against various bacteria, fungi and viruses. 

Several studies have demonstrated the potent antiviral action of AgNPs (silver nano particles) against various human pathogenic viruses such as Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), Influenza virus, Norovirus, Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).  In addition to these viruses, since Ag has been demonstrated to kill SARS-CoV, 

RESULTS 

after 96 h cAg showed robust antiviral effect denoted by increased viability of infected VeroE6/TMPRSS2 cells at concentrations ranging between 1 and 10 ppm. In Calu-3 cells, significant viral load reduction was observed at similar cAg (colloidal silver) concentration range 

Ag was found to exhibit cytotoxicity at concentrations from 20 parts per million (ppm) onward. 

Previous studies have documented the size dependent potency of AgNPs in viral inactivation, with ≤10 nm particle size reported to have maximum antiviral effect  

Antiviral effect was noted with AgNPs of size ranging from 2 to 15 nm  

Silver inhibits extracellular viruses by preventing viral entry 

the infected cells were treated with 2 ppm of PVP-AgNP10. We observed significant protection of infected cells and suppression of viral load with PVP-AgNP10 (silver nano particles 10nm diameter). 

Several studies have reiterated the size dependent antiviral effect of AgNPs with particles around 10 nm diameter being most effective. This has been attributed the higher stability of interaction to the viral protein achieved by 10 nm particles which is not capable by larger particles. Consistent with this, we also observed anti-SARS-CoV-2 activity only with AgNPs of diameters ranging from 2 to 15 nm. Our immunofluorescence study corroborated the above phenomenon, as we observed that PVP-AgNP10 completely inhibited SARS-CoV-2  

Antiviral effect of AgNPs is also concentration dependent. Most studies have observed the antiviral efficacy of AgNPs at concentrations ranging between 10 and 100 ppm. However, 0.5 ppm cAg has been shown effective in inhibiting Influenza virus and is the least concentration that has been reported to show antiviral activity. In the current study, we observed naked AgNPs to inhibit SARS-CoV-2 at concentrations ranging between 1 and 10 ppm and become cytotoxic to mammalian cells from 20 ppm and above. 

Ag is a very broad spectrum microbicide.  AgNPs can be used on a variety of inanimate surfaces to combat the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Ag coated masks have been found to be effective in inhibiting SARS-CoV-2 and could potentially be effective when applied on the air filters of air conditioners and medical devices. AgNP incorporated polycotton fabrics have been proven to inhibit SARS-CoV-2. Ag based sanitizers and disinfectants are also being used for disinfection of hands and inanimate surfaces respectively.
